Interest to Invest, but HOW?

You're interested to invest but how does it works?

  1. Contact the unit trust agent if you have his/her number. If you don't have the number, you can contact here or call unit trust company customer service. They will be happy to guide you or send an agent.

  2. You will set an appointment with this agent and in the first meeting if you have done your homework you can ask anything related to unit trust investment.

  3. You can ask for a copy of Prospectus, but make sure you read it don't just keep it. Some of the term inside the prospectus may be difficult to understand. Don't worry you can always ask the agent to explain.

  4. You can ask the agent to come again and meet you in second meeting. Of course If you're satisfy in the first meeting, you can invest on the spot. Sometimes you can't decide and want to consider other options too. But remember you must make decision, don't let the agent waits for you. You must decide, so give yes or no. Within 3-4 days should be enough to think. If you still hesitate than answer no. Later when you're ready, maybe you want to call him/her again.

  5. When you've decided to invest, completes the application form and returns it with your application money (if invest by cash) to your agent . But remember, if you want to invest in a large sum of money, it's necessary you prepare a cheque.

  6. The agent will submit your application to the unit trust company. The Trustee receives the investor's money, pools it with other investors' money and purchases investments selected by the Fund Manager.

  7. The Fund Manager issues statements of investment to investors showing the number of units purchased in the Fund and looks after the day-to-day management and administration of the Fund's investments to ensure optimal returns.

  8. The Fund's investments are valued daily and the capital growth achieved is passed on to the investors through an increase in the value of units.

  9. The Trustee distributes profits from the Fund annually through cash dividends to investors or if you decides to build up your investment, you can use the dividends to purchase additional units in the Fund. Usually if you pick the latter option the distribution will be automatically reinvested. Now you understand the process, if you decided to make an appointment, take the first step by contacting the agent.
